What is the Fed's outlook for interest rate cuts, inflation and jobs for the remainder of the year?

The Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday, lowering the federal funds rate to 4%–4.25%, its first cut of 2025. The move follows signs of labor market weakness despite inflation remaining above the Fed’s 2% target and tariffs expected to keep prices elevated.

The Fed’s quarterly “dot plot” projects two more 25-basis-point cuts this year, leaving rates near 3.6% by December, with slower reductions in 2026 (3.4%) and 2027 (3.1%). Policymakers forecast PCE inflation at 3% this year, unemployment rising to 4.5%, and GDP growth of 1.6%.

The dot plot revealed a wide split among Fed officials: some favoring no further cuts, others pushing for as much as a 1.25% reduction by year-end. Analysts said the outlook reflects a highly divided Fed but signals the start of a rate-cutting cycle intended to support the economy without overreacting. Read More.

Phoenix Capital Research highlights five lesser-known hard asset mining plays already posting 14–41% gains in recent weeks, detailed in their report Survive the Inflationary Storm. Read More.
