Social Security Clarifies May 2025 Check Eligibility: 3 Mandatory Requirements You Must Meet
To receive a Social Security retirement check in May 2025, the Social Security Administration has outlined three non-negotiable requirements: (1) you must have worked at least 10 years in jobs covered by Social Security, earning 40 credits; (2) you must be at least 62 years old (full benefits begin at 66–67 depending on your birth year); and (3) you must formally apply for benefits—payments are not automatic.
